The DML Cartel: Music

Theme (From A Broken Car)

(From the CD "Sophomore Jinx")
once was a man
with his heart in his hand
he was picking up the pieces
as they fell down to the ground
he was unsure as to whether
he should put it back together
so he balled it up
in one big knot
and put it on a shelf

it was a cold and brutal winter
so he closed the door to keep the world outside
he needs a friend more than he needs a lover
'cause he's got so much to tell her
but he don't know what to say

now, here i am
still uncertain where i stand
should i carry on or fall back down
or get out of this bed
i was staring at the ceiling
with this broken, hollow feeling
wish to God that what I know right now
i could have told her then
it was a cold and brutal winter
so i closed the door to keep the world outside
i need a friend more than i need a lover
because i've got so much to tell her
but i don't know what to say

it was a cold and brutal winter
so i closed the door to push the cold away
and if you think you know me any better
you don't know me all together
and i don't owe you anything
